Transformational Prayer Ministry Tools

Transformational Prayer Ministry (TPM) is a faith-based approach to emotional and spiritual healing, developed in the mid-1990s by Dr. Ed Smith. The core of TPM is the belief that emotional pain and negative emotions are indicators, not of the problems themselves, but of underlying false beliefs. By addressing these beliefs through prayer and seeking Spiritual truth, individuals can experience profound transformation and renewal of the mind, leading to a change in their emotional state and behaviors, even if their circumstances remain the same. TPM is not focused on managing emotional pain or acting as a traditional counseling session where a facilitator acts as a “doctor” to “fix” a person. Instead, it is a participatory process where the individual, viewed as a mentee, is actively involved in their healing journey, learning to apply the principles of TPM as a life skill. The facilitator, or mentor, guides this process without offering direct counsel or advice, encouraging the mentee to seek and discover Spiritual truth for themselves.

The Map

The “TPM Map” provides a structured approach to Transformational Prayer Ministry, guiding individuals through various stages of emotional and spiritual exploration. It starts with focusing on connection with spiritual authorities, examining emotions, delving into memories, identifying beliefs, and seeking Spiritual truth. This process includes addressing anger towards yourself, Spiritual authorities, or others, finding solutions to resistance or hesitancy, and finally, transformation through reassessment of beliefs, leading to repentance, rejoicing, and receiving comfort. This comprehensive map serves as a tool for facilitators and participants to navigate through the TPM process, aiming for spiritual and emotional healing.

Resolved Memory Record

The “Resolved Memory Record” sheet serves as a practical tool to document the healing journey within the Transformational Prayer Ministry (TPM) framework, particularly when used alongside the “TPM Process Map.” This record sheet allows you to concisely capture key aspects of your TPM sessions, including presenting emotions, specific memories addressed, lies believed, and the truth received from Spiritual authorities. By documenting these elements, individuals can track their progress, reflect on spiritual awareness in their lives, and observe the transformation in their beliefs and emotional well-being over time. This documentation supports the TPM process by providing a structured way to revisit and acknowledge the healing and transformation that occur through engaging with Spiritual truth.

Lie-Emotional Identification

Utilizing the “Lie-Emotional Identification” tool in conjunction with the “TPM Process Map” empowers both mentees and facilitators to more effectively identify and address lie-based beliefs during Transformational Prayer Ministry sessions. The “Lie-Emotional Identification” tool categorizes common lies and associated emotions, such as abandonment, shame, fear, and hopelessness, providing a structured approach for individuals to recognize the specific lies they believe. This recognition is critical in the TPM process, where identifying and confronting these lies is a precursor to seeking and receiving Spiritual truths. This combination enhances awareness, facilitates deeper healing, and supports the transition from lie-based living to truth-filled life.

Alphabetical

The “Alphabetical” tool is designed to assist individuals in recognizing and rating the intensity of their emotions from 0 to 10. This process aids in identifying specific emotions tied to lie-based beliefs, facilitating a deeper understanding of one’s emotional landscape. When used alongside the TPM Process Map, this tool enhances the effectiveness of the TPM sessions by allowing for a precise emotional identification before and after replacing lies with truth. It serves as a valuable resource for both mentees and facilitators, promoting emotional awareness and aiding in the journey towards emotional and spiritual healing.

Categorical

The “Categorical” tool organizes emotions into specific categories, enabling individuals to systematically identify and understand their feelings. This approach facilitates the connection between emotions and underlying lie-based beliefs, enhancing the effectiveness of the Transformational Prayer Ministry (TPM) process. By categorizing emotions, individuals can more easily pinpoint the specific emotions they are experiencing, assess their intensity, and link them to corresponding beliefs. This structured method supports deeper self-awareness and aids in the targeted application of TPM principles, helping individuals and facilitators to navigate the healing journey with greater precision and insight.

Faces

The “Faces” tool uses visual representations of emotions to help individuals recognize and identify their feelings. This visual approach is particularly effective for those who may find it challenging to articulate their emotions through words alone. By associating emotions with facial expressions, users can more intuitively understand and express their emotional state, facilitating a deeper engagement with the TPM process. This tool is beneficial for enhancing emotional literacy and awareness, allowing for a more accessible and immediate connection to one’s internal emotional landscape.
